Booth"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-790\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/?attachment_id=790\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-790\" title=\"William Booth Photo\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/William-Booth-Photo-250x291.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"250\" height=\"291\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/William-Booth-Photo-250x291.jpg 250w, https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/William-Booth-Photo-200x233.jpg 200w, https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/William-Booth-Photo.jpg 746w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 250px) 100vw, 250px\" \/><\/a>William P. \u201cBill\u201d Booth \u2013 57 \u2013 of 1 Meadows Park, Arkport, died Monday evening at St. James Mercy Hospital, following a long illness.<\/p>\n<p>Born in Hornell on July 15, 1954, he was the son of Wilson &amp; Mary (Bullock) Booth.<\/p>\n<p>Bill grew up in Hornell and attended St. Ann\u2019s School and later Hornell High School.\u00a0 He had been employed for several years as a handyman at the Hornell Knights of Columbus.\u00a0 For about 15 years he worked in the Specialty Department of Gunlocke Corporation in Wayland making beautiful furniture.\u00a0 Later, Bill served as an instructor at Groveland Correctional Facility teaching woodworking to the inmates.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>He had been a communicant of St. Ann\u2019s Church and volunteered countless hours \u201cringing the bell\u201d at Christmas time raising money for the Hornell Salvation Army.\u00a0 Bill enjoyed collecting clocks, rooting for the Buffalo Bills and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandson.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Bill is survived by 2 daughters, Billie Jo Booth of Hornell and Anna Booth of Perkinsville; 2 sisters, Mary Ann (Joe) Trenkler of Charlott, NC and Betty (Bob) Sanford of Hornell; 2 brothers, Michael (Pauline) Booth of Prattsburg and James Booth of Alabama; his grandson, Ethan Speed; several nieces &amp; nephews.<\/p>\n<p>The family of William P. \u201cBill\u201d Booth will receive friends on Saturday from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at the Dagon Funeral Home, 38 Church St., Hornell, NY, where a Memorial Service will be held at the conclusion of calling hours at 1:00 PM with Deacon Robert McCormick officiating.<\/p>\n<p>Bill\u2019s family request that memorial contributions in his name be made to Hornell Salvation Army, Seneca St., Hornell, NY.\u00a0 Memorial forms will be available at the Dagon Funeral Home.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>William P. \u201cBill\u201d Booth \u2013 57 \u2013 of 1 Meadows Park, Arkport, died Monday evening at St. James Mercy Hospital, following a long illness.
