{"id":8009,"date":"2026-02-03T13:29:22","date_gmt":"2026-02-03T18:29:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/?p=8009"},"modified":"2026-02-03T13:29:45","modified_gmt":"2026-02-03T18:29:45","slug":"8009","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/?p=8009","title":{"rendered":"Annamarie \u201cAnnie\u201d McManus"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-8010\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/McManus-Photo-2-250x330.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"250\" height=\"330\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/McManus-Photo-2-250x330.jpg 250w, https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/McManus-Photo-2-1024x1350.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/McManus-Photo-2-200x264.jpg 200w, https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/McManus-Photo-2-768x1013.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/McManus-Photo-2-1165x1536.jpg 1165w, https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/McManus-Photo-2.jpg 1513w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 250px) 100vw, 250px\" \/>Hornell, New York<\/p>\n<p>Annamarie \u201cAnnie\u201d McManus \u2013 65 \u2013 of 162 Terry St., Hornell, died unexpectedly Saturday evening (January 31, 2026) at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY.<\/p>\n<p>Born in Buffalo, NY on October 25, 1960, she was the daughter of John &amp; Patricia (Izydorczak) Kearney and the step-daughter of Cathy Kearney.<\/p>\n<p>Annie grew up in the Buffalo, Lancaster &amp; Pembroke areas and attended Pembroke High School.\u00a0 She later received her General Education Development (GED) Diploma.\u00a0 She has resided in the Hornell-Canisteo area for most of her adult life.<\/p>\n<p>Throughout the years, Annie had been employed at several area businesses including the former Marion Rohr Corporation, Hornell Gardens (in the Kitchen and later as Activities Aid), Best Western Hotel (Housekeeping Department) and most recently at 7-Eleven in Hornell.<\/p>\n<p>Annie loved spending time in the kitchen cooking and baking delicious cookies, cakes &amp; cupcakes.\u00a0 She was a member of the Hornell VFW and enjoyed cooking &amp; baking for various parties, memorials and celebrations of life.\u00a0 She was also a die-hard Buffalo Bills Football fan.\u00a0 Annie cherished her time spent with her family (especially her grandchildren) and her best friend, Kari Capluzzi.\u00a0 She also loved &amp; adored her canine companion, Sodus.<\/p>\n<p>She was preceded in death by her parents, John &amp; Patricia; her step-mother, Cathy; her grandson, Sawyer Karns-McManus; and her sister-in-law, Cheryl Klein.<\/p>\n<p>Surviving are her husband, Timothy \u201cTim\u201d McManus; her daughter, Heather (Bill Davis) Sills of Hornell; her son, Justin (Miranda Forshee) Sills of Canisteo; her \u201cBonus Children,\u201d Nick (Nyki) Karns-McManus of Hornell, Grady McManus of Hornell and Cailey (Vincent) Taylor of Salem, OR; 4 brothers, Daniel (Laurie) Kearney of Corfu, NY, Donald (Becky) Kearney of Geneseo, NY, Richard Klein of Lancaster, NY and Kevin (Ellie) Kearney of Seneca Falls, NY; 2 sisters, Judy Christenson of Rembrandt, IA and Cynthia (Scott) Turner of Corfu, NY; 7 grandchildren, Savannah, Charlotte, Gulianna, Spencer, Kinsley, Charlie and Graham; along with many nieces &amp; nephews.<\/p>\n<p>The family of Annamarie \u201cAnnie\u201d McManus will receive friends on Sunday (February 8, 2025) from 10:00 AM until 12:00 Noon at the Dagon Funeral Home, 38 Church St., Hornell, NY.\u00a0 A \u201cCelebration of Life\u201d will follow at the Hornell VFW beginning at 12:00 Noon.\u00a0 All are welcome to attend and encouraged to wear their favorite Buffalo Bills apparel to both calling hours and Celebration of Life.<\/p>\n<p>Annie\u2019s family request that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name be made to Golisano Children\u2019s Hospital, 601 Elmwood Ave.\u00a0 #655, Rochester, NY\u00a0 14642.\u00a0 Memorial forms will be available at the Dagon Funeral Home.<\/p>\n<p>To leave an online condolence or share a memory, visit www.dagonfuneralhome.com.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hornell, New York Annamarie \u201cAnnie\u201d McManus \u2013 65 \u2013 of 162 Terry St., Hornell, died unexpectedly Saturday evening (January 31, 2026) at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY.
