{"id":8013,"date":"2026-02-04T14:29:18","date_gmt":"2026-02-04T19:29:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/?p=8013"},"modified":"2026-02-04T14:31:10","modified_gmt":"2026-02-04T19:31:10","slug":"claude-lewis-comardo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/?p=8013","title":{"rendered":"Claude Lewis Comardo"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-8014\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/Claude-Comardo-Photo-250x380.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"250\" height=\"380\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/Claude-Comardo-Photo-250x380.jpg 250w, https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/Claude-Comardo-Photo-200x304.jpg 200w, https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/Claude-Comardo-Photo.jpg 271w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 250px) 100vw, 250px\" \/>Hornell, New York<\/p>\n<p>Claude Lewis Comardo \u2013 60 \u2013 of 7 West St., Hornell, died Sunday afternoon (February 1, 2026) at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, following a long illness.<\/p>\n<p>Born in Rochester, NY on December 14, 1965 and grew up in the Rochester where he attended Irondequoit High School.\u00a0 He later earned his General Education Development (GED) Diploma.<\/p>\n<p>A resident of the Hornell \u2013 Canisteo area for the past 19 years, Claude had been employed as an Electronic Technician at Alstom (7 years); Gunlock Corporation in Wayland (4 years) and Strobel Supply in Hornell (1 year), retiring 4 years ago due to ill health.<\/p>\n<p>Claude was an avid coin collector for many years and became an expert at assessing coin values.\u00a0 He enjoyed fishing (streams &amp; ponds) and especially looked forward to holiday dinners and cook-outs with family.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-8015 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/Claude-Comardo-Photo-2-250x333.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"250\" height=\"333\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/Claude-Comardo-Photo-2-250x333.jpg 250w, https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/Claude-Comardo-Photo-2-200x266.jpg 200w, https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/Claude-Comardo-Photo-2.jpg 284w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 250px) 100vw, 250px\" \/>He was preceded in death by his brother, William Cross; and his nephew, Scott Cross.<\/p>\n<p>On October 20, 2011, Claude married the former Kelly Edwards who survives.\u00a0 Also surviving are one son; one daughter; several step-children; numerous nieces &amp; nephews.<\/p>\n<p>At Claude\u2019s request there will be no calling hours.\u00a0 A \u201cCelebration of Life\u201d will be held at a future date.<\/p>\n<p>Funeral arrangements are in care of the Dagon Funeral Home, 38 Church St. Hornell, NY.<\/p>\n<p>Claude\u2019s family request that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name may be made to a charity of the donor\u2019s choice.<\/p>\n<p>To leave an online condolence or share a memory, visit www.dagonfuneralhome.com.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hornell, New York Claude Lewis Comardo \u2013 60 \u2013 of 7 West St., Hornell, died Sunday afternoon (February 1, 2026) at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, following a long illness.
