Wulforst \u2013 89 \u2013 of Conderman Road, Fremont, died Tuesday evening (April 7, 2026) at the Steuben Center for Rehabilitation in Bath, NY following a brief illness.<\/p>\n<p>Born in Rochester, NY on September 21, 1936, she was the daughter of Joseph &amp; Evelyn (Stocum) Hinkley.<\/p>\n<p>Lorraine grew up in Greece, NY where she attended school.\u00a0 In her younger years while living in the Rochester area, she was employed at Delco Corporation.\u00a0 In later years after moving to the Fremont area she served as a cook at Alfred State College (SUNY Alfred) and also had been employed at Jenkins Farm Market in Arkport.<\/p>\n<p>She was married in 1973 to Henry J. Wulforst (died in 2022).\u00a0 Lorraine was also preceded in death by her son, Scott Volkmar (died in 2024); along with 8 siblings; and several in-laws.<\/p>\n<p>Surviving are her granddaughter, Shana Harrington of Whitesville, NY; her sister, Betty Chauncey of Florida; along with many nieces &amp; nephews.<\/p>\n<p>At Lorraine\u2019s request there will be no calling hours.\u00a0 Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.<\/p>\n<p>Funeral arrangements are in care of the Dagon Funeral Home, 38 Church St., Hornell, NY.<\/p>\n<p>Lorraine\u2019s family request that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 13 Beech St., Johnson City, NY\u00a0 13790.<\/p>\n<p>To leave an online condolence or share a memory, visit www.dagonfuneralhome.com.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Fremont, New York Lorraine M.
