A true \u201cJack of All Trades,\u201d he was self employed doing carpentry, plumbing and sheet rocking. He had also been employed at Naars Restaurant \/ Tavern in Cameron as a cook and bouncer. David was a New York Jets (NFL) fan and a \u201cCloset\u201d New Orleans Saints fan.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, David Troy, Jr; and his son-in-law, Nate Smith.<\/p>\n<p>Surviving are 2 daughters, including Denielle Smith of Hornell; his brother, Michael Troy; his sister, Kelly Tubbs; along with 2 grandchildren, Peyton Smith and Lila Smith.<\/p>\n<p>A special thank-you to Robert \u201cBob\u201d Potter, a lifelong friend who was truly like a brother to David. Their bond was filled with laughter, stories and plenty of bickering. Bob was family to David, and their love, loyalty, and lifelong friendship will always be cherished and remembered.<\/p>\n<p>At David\u2019s request there will be no calling hours.
