{"id":912,"date":"2012-02-02T17:17:18","date_gmt":"2012-02-02T17:17:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/?p=912"},"modified":"2012-02-02T17:17:18","modified_gmt":"2012-02-02T17:17:18","slug":"john-h-jack-cregan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/?p=912","title":{"rendered":"John H. &#8220;Jack&#8221; Cregan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-913\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/?attachment_id=913\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-913\" title=\"Jack Cregan Photo\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/Jack-Cregan-Photo-250x289.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"250\" height=\"289\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/Jack-Cregan-Photo-250x289.jpg 250w, https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/Jack-Cregan-Photo-200x231.jpg 200w, https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/Jack-Cregan-Photo.jpg 443w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 250px) 100vw, 250px\" \/><\/a>John H. \u201cJack\u201d Cregan \u2013 (69) \u2013 of 75 Elm St., Hornell, died Wednesday afternoon (February 1, 2012) at McAuley Manor, following a long illness.<\/p>\n<p>A native and life resident of Hornell, he was born November 26, 1942, and was the son of Paul &amp; Mary (Horton) Cregan.<\/p>\n<p>Jack grew up in Hornell and was a graduate of Hornell High School (class of 1960).\u00a0 He was a member of Our Lady of the Valley Parish and a communicant of St. Ann\u2019s Church.\u00a0 Jack was also a member of the Hornell Knights of Columbus, Hornell Elks Lodge and the Hornell Alumni Association.<\/p>\n<p>For about 20 years he was employed at the former Erie Lackawanna Railroad and Conrail, retiring as a conductor.\u00a0 For 13 years he worked as a forklift operator at Crowley\u2019s Dairy in Arkport.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul &amp; Mary Cregan; his brother, Richard J. \u201cDick\u201d Cregan who died in 1971.<\/p>\n<p>He was married on November 12, 2008 to the former Peggy Glynn Argentieri who survives.\u00a0 Also surviving are 2 daughters, Maggie (Jerry Ross) Cregan of Hornell and Stacey Cregan of Hornell; his brother, Tom Cregan of North Hornell; Peggy\u2019s children, Marco (Nicole) Argentieri of New York City, Christopher (Ansley) Argentieri of Los Angeles, CA and Alison (Heather) Coubrough &#8211; Argentieri of Boston, MA; 3 grandchildren, Henry, Ellis &amp; Zoe; 1 niece, Valerie (Mike) Smith; 1 nephew, Jason Cregan; aunts, uncles &amp; cousins.<\/p>\n<p>At Jack\u2019s request there will be no prior calling hours.\u00a0 A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 11:00 AM at St. Ann\u2019s Church with burial in St. Mary\u2019s Cemetery.<\/p>\n<p>Jack\u2019s family request that memorial contributions in his name be made to the Hornell Alumni Association, PO Box 135, Hornell, NY 14843 or the YMCA Pool Fund, 18 Center St., Hornell, NY 14843.<\/p>\n<p>Funeral arrangements are in care of the Dagon Funeral Home, 38 Church St., Hornell, NY.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>John H. \u201cJack\u201d Cregan \u2013 (69) \u2013 of 75 Elm St., Hornell, died Wednesday afternoon (February 1, 2012) at McAuley Manor, following a long illness.
