{"id":971,"date":"2012-05-05T14:40:47","date_gmt":"2012-05-05T14:40:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/?p=971"},"modified":"2012-06-06T11:32:38","modified_gmt":"2012-06-06T11:32:38","slug":"harold-r-bob-lieb","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/?p=971","title":{"rendered":"Harold R. &#8220;Bob&#8221; Lieb"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-972\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/?attachment_id=972\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-972\" title=\"Harold Lieb\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/Harold-Lieb-250x301.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"250\" height=\"301\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/Harold-Lieb-250x301.jpg 250w, https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/Harold-Lieb-200x241.jpg 200w, https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/Harold-Lieb.jpg 412w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 250px) 100vw, 250px\" \/><\/a>Harold R. \u201cBob\u201d Lieb, JR \u2013 57 \u2013 of 13 Cottage Ave., Hornell, died unexpectedly Thursday morning (May 3, 2012) at his home.<\/p>\n<p>Born in Hornell on May 14, 1954, he was the son of Harold &amp; Jean (O\u2019Connor) Lieb.<\/p>\n<p>Bob grew up in Hornell and was a graduate of Hornell High School (class of 1972).\u00a0 He attended Alfred State College and was a graduate of Corning Community College where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering Technology.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>He resided in Alaska (Juno, Valdez &amp; Fairbanks) for many years where he was employed by the State of Alaska.\u00a0 He also resided in Penn Yan for several years.\u00a0 After returning to Hornell about 15 years ago, Bob worked for the New York State Department of Transportation as an engineer in the Bridge Department.\u00a0 He moved to Florida for about 1 \u00bd years and, again, returned to Hornell about 3 \u00bd years ago.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Bob had been a member of the Hornell Elks Lodge and the Hornell Association.\u00a0 In his younger years, he was regarded as one of the best pool players (billiards) in the area.\u00a0 While in college, he won the National Pocket Billiards Championship.\u00a0 Bob was a faithful member of the Hornell YMCA, enjoyed playing basketball and also enjoyed jogging.\u00a0 He also loved rooting for the New York Yankees, Cleveland Browns and the Boston Celtics.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his former wife, Susan Graham.<\/p>\n<p>Surviving are his son, Robert Thomas Lieb of Myrtle Beach, SC; 2 sisters, Barbara (Alexander) Kowtun of Hornell and Margie (John) Frungillo of Hornell; 2 brothers, James (Mary) Lieb of Albany and John (Elizabeth) Lieb of Hornell; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces &amp; nephews.<\/p>\n<p>At Bob\u2019s request there will be no prior calling hours.\u00a0 A Memorial Service will be held at\u00a01:00 PM on\u00a0Friday, June 8, 2012 at the Dagon Funeral Home, 38 Church St., Hornell,NY with Deacon Robert McCormick officiating.<\/p>\n<p>Bob\u2019s family request that memorial contributions in his name be made to the Hornell YMCA,18 Center St., Hornell, NY 14843.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Harold R. \u201cBob\u201d Lieb, JR \u2013 57 \u2013 of 13 Cottage Ave., Hornell, died unexpectedly Thursday morning (May 3, 2012) at his home.
