Argentieri"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-981\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/?attachment_id=981\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-981\" title=\"Bob Argentieri Photo\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/Bob-Argentieri-Photo-250x319.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"250\" height=\"319\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/Bob-Argentieri-Photo-250x319.jpg 250w, https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/Bob-Argentieri-Photo-200x255.jpg 200w, https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/Bob-Argentieri-Photo.jpg 700w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 250px) 100vw, 250px\" \/><\/a>Robert J. \u201cBob\u201d Argentieri \u2013 (86) \u2013 of 1130 Airport Road, Hornell, died Thursday morning (May 10, 2012) at Hornell Gardens, following a long illness.<\/p>\n<p>A native &amp; life resident of Hornell, he was born November 11, 1925, and was the son of Silvino &amp; Dorothy (Feeney) Argentieri.<\/p>\n<p>Bob was a graduate of St. Ann\u2019s School and later graduated from Hornell High School (class of 1944).\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>From 1944 -1961 he was employed as an accountant at the Erie Accounting Bureau.\u00a0 In 1961 he began working as a mail carrier for the US Postal Service, a position he held until 1984.\u00a0 From 1984 \u2013 1992 he worked at Off Track Betting in Hornell.<\/p>\n<p>Bob was a member of Our Lady of the Valley Parish and a communicant of St. Ann\u2019s Church, where he served as an usher for many years.\u00a0 He had also been a member of the St. Ann\u2019s Parish Council and served on the finance committee.\u00a0 He was a member of the Hornell Knights of Columbus an also the Hornell Elks Lodge and had served on the Arkport School Board.\u00a0 Bob was also an avid Buffalo Bills and New York Yankee Fan.<!--more-->He was married on September 1, 1947 to the former Virginia \u201cGinny\u201d Leith who survives.\u00a0 Also surviving are 2 sons, Robert (Anne) Argentieri of Holmes, NY and Jeff (Liz) Argentieri of Groveland, NY; 3 brothers, William \u201cChop\u201d Dorothy Argentieri of Alfred, Francis \u201cBabi\u201d (Marianne) Argentieri of Hornell and James (Phyllis) Argentieri of Hornell; 1 sister, Mary Agnes (Donald) Crosby of Hornell; 6 grandchildren, Sam, Pete, Nellie, Danielle, Nick &amp; Morgan; many nieces, nephews and cousins.<\/p>\n<p>The family of Robert J. \u201cBob\u201d Argentieri will receive friends\u00a0on Sunday from 2 \u2013 4 PM\u00a0\u00a0 and\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 7 \u2013 9 PM at the Dagon Funeral Home, 38 Church St., Hornell.\u00a0 A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 11:00AM at St. Ann\u2019s Church with burial in St. Mary\u2019s Cemetery.<\/p>\n<p>Bob\u2019s family request the memorial contributions in his name be made to St. Ann\u2019s Church, 27 Erie Ave., Hornell, NY 14843 or to the Hornell YMCA, 18 Center St., Hornell, NY 14843.\u00a0 Memorial forms will be available at the Dagon Funeral Home.<\/p>\n<p>The Argentieri family would like to extend their appreciation to the wonderful staff at Hornell Gardens for the wonderful care given to Bob over the past few years.\u00a0 They certainly made a difficult time much easier.\u00a0 Thank-You!!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Robert J. \u201cBob\u201d Argentieri \u2013 (86) \u2013 of 1130 Airport Road, Hornell, died Thursday morning (May 10, 2012) at Hornell Gardens, following a long illness.
