Donato M. “Danny” Balassone – 76 – of 6118 Campbell Creek Rd., Bath, died Monday evening (April 25, 2011) at his home, following a long illness.
Born in Rockford, IL on August 27, 1934, he was the son of Michael & Satinna (Franka) Balassone. He has resided in the Hornell – Bath area for the past 35 years.
Danny was a well known sign painter and a self-taught artist. He owned and operated Dan’s Signs which later became Studio one Signs.
He was preceded in death by his grandson, Cory Bailey.
Surviving are his son, Michael Balassone; 3 daughters, Renee Balassone Wade, Charmaine Balassone and Michelle Bailey; his loving companion, Barbara Stives; his longtime best friends, Ronald & Sylvia Kukucka; 6 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren.
At Danny’s request there will be no prior calling hours. Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Funeral arrangements are in care of the Dagon Funeral Home, 38 Church St., Hornell, NY.
