Carol L. Mohrman

Carol L. Mohrman – 78 – of Arkport, formerly of Long Island, died early Wednesday morning (February 9, 2022) at the Vincent House in Wayland, NY, following an illness.

Born in New York City on April 28, 1943, she was the daughter of George & Emma (Pheasant) Dempsey.

Carol grew up in Queens Village, NY and was a graduate of Andrew Jackson High School (class of 1961).  She resided on Long Island for most of her adult life, initially in the Farmingdale area and then in Dix Hills after she married Robert (Bob) Mohrman in May of 1969.  They were married until his death on February 15, 2005. She has lived in Arkport for the past few months.

While living in Dix Hills, Carol was a member of the St. Luke Lutheran Church.

Carol was an avid reader (especially fiction novels) and liked to spend time working on crossword puzzles.  She also enjoyed taking daily walks and doing aerobics.

Surviving are her son, David (Valerie) Mohrman of Midlothian, VA; her daughter, Jackie (Robert Adler) Mohrman of Arkport; 2 grandchildren, Sarah Mohrman & Christopher Mohrman.

At Carol’s request there will be no calling hours.  Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Funeral arrangements are in care of the Dagon Funeral Home, 38 Church St., Hornell, NY.

Carol’s family request that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name be made to the American Cancer Society, 13 Beech St., Johnson City, NY  13790 or The Vincent House Comfort Care Home, PO Box 566, 310 Second Avenue, Wayland, NY 14572.

    I will miss you so very much Aunt Carol. You were always the life of the party. Getting us kids playing Christmas wrapper horns marching around the house while the grownups were jamming to “ When the Saints Go Marching in”
