Carlyle A. “Stoney” Stone

Carlyle A. “Stoney” Stone – 83 – of 127 West William St., Bath, died Saturday evening (April 14, 2024) at his home, following a long illness.

Born in Towanda, PA on May 10, 1940, he was the son of William & Sylvina (Crayton) Stone.

Stoney grew up in Pennsylvania where he graduated from high school. He was an
11½ year Veteran of the US Army, serving his country during the Vietnam Conflict.

He was employed as a truck driver, primarily driving throughout New York State and Pennsylvania. Stoney enjoyed visiting various restaurants and, in his younger years, was an avid bowler.

Carlyle had been married to his first wife, Jean, who died about 30 years ago. He was also preceded in death by his step-son, Kevin Frisbie.

He was married on January 17, 1998 to the former Kay Arleen Thompson who survives. Also surviving are 2 sons, Carlyle “Ed” (Jovelyn) Stone and Stephen (Brenda) Stone; 3 step-children, Deanna Frisbie, Dana Furlong and Fred Frisbie; along with several other family members.

At Carlyle’s request there will be no calling hours. A private Memorial Service will be held at the Bath National Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

Funeral arrangements are in care of the Dagon Funeral Home, 38 Church St., Hornell, NY.

Carlyle’s family request that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name be made to the Bath VA Medical Center Activities Fund, 76 Veterans Ave., Bath, NY 14810
