Nicholas A. “Nick” Arce – 32 – of 456 Bennett Parkway, Hornell died Saturday (December 27, 2025) at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, following a long illness.

Born in Allentown, PA on December 28, 1992, and was the son of Joseph Arce and Anita (DeMarco) Arce and the step-son of Steven Smith.

Nick’s family resided in Ulysses, PA but moved to the Hornell area when Nick was about 3 years old.   He attended Hornell High School and later earned his General Educational Diploma (GED).

Affectionately known as “Narce” to his friends, was a self-employed painter who painted both interior & exterior homes.  He also worked for several “House Flippers” in the Rochester area.

In his younger years, Nick was very into collecting Pokémon cards and was an excellent “Video Gamer,” who often played against world-wide competition.  He was an avid fisherman who enjoyed fishing in streams, creeks & lakes.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Anita Arce who died in 2019.

Surviving are his step-dad, Steven Smith of Canisteo; 3 brothers, Anthony “Tony” Arce of Allentown, PA, Joseph “Joe” Arce of Canisteo and Tyler (Hannah) Smith of Scottsdale, AZ; several aunts, uncles & cousins.

At Nick’s request there will be no calling hours.  Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Funeral arrangements are in care of the Dagon Funeral Home, 38 Church St., Hornell, NY.

Nick’s family request that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hornell Humane Society, 7649 Industrial Park Road, Hornell, NY  14843
