Bonnie Lee Blackman – 80 – formerly of Hornell and Rexville, died Tuesday evening (March 5, 2024) at Taylor Health Care Facility in Bath where she had resided for the past 3 years.

Born in New Hampshire on May 28, 1943, she was the daughter of Bud Blackman and Shirlie (Geddas) Blackman Ballam and the stepdaughter of Donald Ballam.

Bonnie grew up in Manchester, NH where she lived & worked for most of her life. Following her retirement she resided in Hornell for several years and Coudersport, PA before moving to Rexville, NY about 8 years ago.

An avid reader, Bonnie loved to read just about anything, including novels, magazines and newspapers. She also enjoyed working on crossword puzzles and watching game shows and home remodeling shows on TV.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Nancy Houle; 3 brothers, James Ballam, Jacky Ballam and Freddie Blackman.

Surviving are he daughter, Linda (Chad) Potter of Hornell; 5 brothers, Henry Blackman, Thomas Blackman, Stanley Blackman, Bruce Blackman and James Blackman; her grandchildren, Monica (Everett) Reffitt of Hornell and Brandy Houle of Manchester, NH; 3 great-grandchildren, Natalee Glick, MaryJayne Reffitt and Brentlee Fremeau; several nieces & nephews.

At Bonnie’s request there will be no calling hours. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Funeral arrangements are in care of the Dagon Funeral Home, 38 Church St., Hornell, NY.

Bonnie Lee’s family request that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 200 Meridian Centre Blvd (Suite 110), Rochester, NY 14618
