Dad, we didn’t always have the closest relationship when I was younger, but as I got older and built my life and had two sons, we found our way to each other. More than father and son, we became friends. I’ll always treasure our motorcycle rides and the time we spent together before life changed things.
After your stroke, I was there as much as I could be—taking you to doctor appointments or just sitting with you. Even when the last year and a half kept us apart physically, in our hearts we were never apart. I tried to reach you so many times through phone calls, hoping to hear your voice again.
I will forever cherish our last phone call, when I told you I loved you and missed you—and you told me you loved me too, always. When I got the news, it broke me, and I’m so sorry. I love you, Dad, and you will always be in my heart.

Rest easy, Dad. You are loved.

    Love, your son Michael
