Patricia A. “Pat” Dailey – (88) – of Hornell, died Tuesday evening (August 2, 2022) at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville, following a recent illness.
Born in Chicago, IL on December 17, 1933, she was the daughter of Bryan & Sarah (Bunn) Moylan.
Pat resided in Elmira, NY from 1934 – 1962 and was a graduate of St. Mary’s Grade School and later graduated from Elmira Catholic High School. She resided in Hornell from 1962 – 1983 where she was employed as Unit Secretary at the former St. James Mercy Hospital. Pat lived in Rochester from 1983 – 1990 where she worked at Strong Memorial Hospital. She returned to Hornell in 1990, resuming her employment at St. James Mercy Hospital. Pat thoroughly enjoyed her monthly dinners with friends and former co-workers of St. James Mercy Hospital.
She was a member of Our Lady of the Valley Parish and a communicant of St. Ignatius Loyola Church and St. Ann’s Church. Pat enjoyed reading, sewing, quilting and music. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
On September 20, 1952, Pat married her high school sweetheart, Thomas “Paul” Dailey, who died February 8, 2008. She was also preceded in death by 3 sons, Daniel Dailey who died in 2003, David Dailey who died in 2010 and Dennis Dailey who died in 2012; her brothers, Bryan “Bud” Moylan and John “Jack” Moylan.
Surviving are 2 sons, Tim Dailey of Holley, NY, and Jeff Dailey of Hornell; 5 daughters, Linda (Karl) Haynes of Wilmington, DE, Teresa (Joe) Hall of Hornell, Carol (Steve) Freeland of Hornell, Patricia (Bradley) Spicer of Hornell and Diana (Dirk) Huussen of Rochester; her daughters-in-law, Sue (Glenn) Winans and Patricia Dailey, Anne Marie Dailey and Suzie Dailey; her sisters-in-law, Barbara Dailey and Gloria Moylan; 30 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; nieces & nephews.
At Pat’s request there will be no prior calling hours. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:00 AM at St. Ann’s Church with final interment in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements are in care of the Dagon Funeral Home, 38 Church St., Hornell, NY.
Pat’s family request that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name be made to the Hornell Humane Society, 7649 Industrial Park Road, Hornell, NY 14843.
